Modern Tiny House in Durham, NC

Published: April 7, 2023 | Durham, North Carolina

Recently we visited the Research Triangle region in Central North Carolina in the town of Durham. We stayed in the Modern Tiny House In the Trees which is located in a well-established neighborhood.

I really loved the modern, contemporary design and feel of this property. The exterior design with the dark gray painted siding and the perfect square shaped windows throughout added a lot to the contemporary style. From the moment you pull up to the home you know you’re going to enjoy the inside as well.

The entrance to the home is unique in that you enter through the screened in porch. This was one of the most peaceful screened porch settings I have experienced in a while. The comfortable swinging chair was the most perfect spot to enjoy some of the neighborhood wildlife and a good book.

Decor We Loved

Inside the home, the tall living room ceiling really allowed a lot of light into the space. With a name like “Modern Tiny House in the Trees” you would expect it to be dark inside, but that was not the case.

This home really is perfect for a weekend getaway or a prolonged trip. You have a full-sized kitchen that is completely stocked. During our trip it was not only stocked with basics, but there were even boxes of pasta and pancake mix – not to mention a full bar of cocktail mixers!

Why would you need to book this short-term rental? Visiting nearby universities UNC Chapel Hill or Duke, attending a broadway show at Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC), visiting the out-of-town team playing at Durham Bulls Ballpark, or just because you want a local weekend staycation.
