Modern Farmhouse Tiny Home in NC

Published: April 7, 2023 | North Carolina, Winston-Salem

Near Winston-Salem, NC, you will find one of the most beautiful short-term rental homes tucked into a rural setting not far from Interstate 40. When we booked this place we knew the pictures were beautiful, but they really didn’t even do it justice.

When you first arrive at the house you notice that it is absolutely surrounded by trees adding to the secluded feel of this rural property. We visited in very early Spring so the trees hadn’t fully bloomed and the property still felt very private. It was absolutely delightful!

At first glance the white board and batten siding, black windows and roof, and stained wood posts just scream farmhouse. The inviting front porch with rocking chairs was a great space to enjoy the weather, but out of the elements. It is here on the front porch that we see the first of the green decorative elements highlighted in this home – the front door. I think the hosts were inspired by all of the green in nature that surround this home.

Straight through the front door is the open concept living room. There is plenty of seating for all of your guests and a large smart TV for entertainment. I really loved the wood-top coffee table with the green acrylic inlay. But my favorite part of this space was the tall ceiling that made the small living room and kitchen space feel so much more spacious.

The kitchen in this home is full sized with all of the major appliances. It made me feel right at home and not afraid to cook a meal, which isn’t the case in all rentals we’ve stayed in. The hosts even left a bottle of local wine and a tray of snacks and s’mores ingredients!

The two bedrooms in this home are simple yet complete; large comfortable beds, modest end tables, smart TVs, closets and dressers for storage. The windows in both rooms provide ample light into the space which is great for a natural wake-up alarm.

Decor We Loved

The bathroom is spacious and complete. The large glass doored shower includes shampoo, conditioner, and soap. The vanity is painted in the same hunter green shade you see on the front door and the shiplap accent wall in the entryway – I really liked the accent color!

Hopefully you can book your stay during nice weather because the outdoor patio is so peaceful and I highly recommend spending some time out here. The in-ground fire pit is delightful and the host has provided ample firewood and fire starting instructions on a rack inside the kitchen. Take advantage of this treat!

There is an additional upstairs loft in this home, but during our stay it was not being utilized and was just an empty open space. The staircase that leads to the loft is beautiful wood with metal conduit handrail.

All-in-all, this is one of my favorite short-term rentals for multiple reasons. I like that it felt like home, I liked the interior design elements, I liked the rural privacy of the property, and I liked that it wasn’t far from Winston-Salem.
